The Bush Medicine Show
Welcome and Gululu to this eight-part series exploring traditional Indigenous bush medicine practices with Yolŋu healers of the Laynhapuy region, northeast Arnhem Land, Australia.
The Bush Medicine Show is presented by Yolŋu elders who are healers and experts in traditional medicines of the Laynahapuy region and Homelands. Programs have recorded primarily in Yolŋu dharuk. Each episode explores the medicinal and nutritional culture surrounding particular plants that Yolŋu people have and continue to use for the treatment of common ailments, conditions, and injuries.
Come with the healers as we collect plants, make medicines, and talk about healing in context of country and Yolŋu knowledge systems.
This program series is dedicated to Dr Banduk Marika whose research with ethnobotany and plant-based medicine inspired and healed so many.
The Bush Medicine show was made with the support of a Community Broadcasting Foundation grant.
